TSHEPISO REBATENNE WINS PHOENIX P25 000 LIFE CHANGING AWARD

Botswana’s number 1 table tennis female star player Tshepiso Rebatenne has won the Phoenix Assurance Group Life-Changing P25 000.00 Award.
The ping pong sensation won the award at BTTA Independence Grand Finale 2020 hosted on this year’s Wednesday holiday at BUAN.
Tshepiso Rebatenne won the life-changing award after dominating the female section of the blockbuster tourney, dethroning defending champion Boitshwarelo Butale 4-0 in the final.
By nature of winning the final Tshepiso Rebatenne walked away with another cash prize of P6000.00, totaling to P31000.00 rich in a day by the star.

TSHEPISO REBATENNE EXCITED

The top table tennis player told SPORTSNATION that after years of dedication, sports is now bearing fruit on her life following the Phoenix Assurance Group Life-Changing Award.
“I am so excited, finally sports did something huge for me, commented Rebatenne.”
Phoenix in collaboration with BTTA had set a P25 000 cash prize award to encourage competition and set the par high in terms of international table tennis standards.
Fortunately for Tshepiso Rebatenne, she was spotted as meeting the standard.

KABO MALOBELA NOT AWARDED THE PRIZE AMID BEING A CHAMPION

Interestingly, this year’s male section champion Kabo Malobela was not recognized for the same token as Tshepiso Rebatenne.
Kabo Malobela was crowned champion after easily punishing Kennete Santudu in the final who pulled an upset in tournament’s favorite Tshenolo Mooketsi.
The new champion Kabo Malobela told spoke to SPORTSNATION in not so many words that he is okay and he is happy that he managed to win the tournament.
Kabo Malobela’s fiercest rival Tshenolo Mooketsi was the defending champion of the tournament.
Meanwhile, BTTA released a statement reading that the male category did not meet the set standard. Apparently, in the set standard a player has to win the match with 4 games in the best of 7 matches with 2 of those games won under 8, under 8 shall mean any score from 7 and below.
Moreover, the P25 000.00 will remain with the sponsor.
The 2020 Independence Day Grand Finale was powered by a tune of P70 000.00 courtesy of Phoenix Assurance Group, the big money sponsorship included P50 000 reserved for P25 000.00 Life-Changing Award for both male and female categories.
