OPINION:CHAOS ERUPT IN GABORONE DERBY,NOT WELCOMED

They say you don’t get lucky twice, unfortunately that’s what happened to this weekend as Gaborone United in Gaborone derby spoiled Township Rollers in an entertaining 2-1 victory  which was lived short after celebrations were haunted by  Rollers fans storming the pitch.

Unpleasant with the referee’s decisions on the pitch specifically about the penalty incident, Township Rollers fans showed their frustrations in an unusual manners storming the referee with bottles and other hazardous objects.

Although not many casualties were not recorded, one unlucky guy who is in a premier league operations crew was subject to those action, a liquor glass bottle hit his shoulder fortunately it was not extreme and there was no need for emergency.

The most worrying part is how some those liquor glass bottles were allowed entry into the stadium as they are forbidden, those same supporters will be crying foul when the league bans the use of alcohol again in the grounds.

Referees are subject to make errors( not saying he did) and it is part of this beautiful game but mob justice will never be the solution, there are direct channels of voicing out your differences not this childish behavior.

This is one of the situations that will test the Premier league disciplinary committee’s credibility on dealing with issues after bottling many and giving away free passes to teams who do not obey the law.

Either way, hooliganism in  football is totally unwelcome, lets not ruin the beautiful game.
