KEAMOGETSE KENOSI(23) TO TURN PRO

Following her record breaking qualification to the Tokyo 2020 Olympics,Keamogetswe “Sadie” Kenosi is earmarked to turn into professional boxing soon.

Keamogetse Kenosi subscribed to the Olympiad status recently at African qualification tourney hosted in Senegal settling for a silver after a defeat from Tunisia’s Moualahi Khouloud’s in the women’s featherweight final.

KEAMOGETSE KENOSI IS MENTORED BY A PRO BOXING COACH

Locally,Keamogetse Kenosi is under the tutelage of professional boxing kingpin Thebe Setlalekgosi housed with DRAD.

His close mentor Setlalekgosi told Sportsnation that he counts onBotswana Boxing Association(BOBA) to sustain her in the meantime. Setlalekgosi said that failing which,they will turn Kenosi a professional fighter.

“She has been struggling to get into colleges or varsities,I hope BOBA and BNSC(Sports Commission) will come up with a solution for her to go to school,that way she can even continue at the amateur ranks,failing which she will have no choice but go pro,she needs to live as well,but i would love her to go to school and make the next commonwealth  games team,she stands a good chance to bring home a medal,lamented Setlalekgosi.”

LUZA SAYS BOXERS SHOULD AIM TO IMPRESS AT OLYMPICS FIRST

When commenting on the issue at hand,National team mentor Lechezhani “Master” Luza pointed out that it is Keamogetse Kenosi’s choice to make but for now he wants her focused for the olympics.Luza believes that boxers should be to atleast been to three olympics before going pro.

“Well for now i do not know and my focus is for her to go and compete at the Olympics. If she wants to turn pro one day why not. My view is that we must take boxers to 3 Olympics then they will be more experienced,alludes Luza.”

KEAMOGETSE KENOSI HAS AMBITIONS OF TURNING PRO

Kenosi has foreshadowed to this publication that she has goals to reach first in the amature ranks before marching to professional divisions.While in amature ranks Kenosi argued that that Botswana Boxing Association(BOBA) can help her become the best of her version.

“I Want to go to the Commonwealth Games and the second Olympics,I wish the association can help me make a living,like giving me scholarship or something,said Kenosi.”

Kenosi trades for DTCB Boxing Club which is literally an amateur wing of professional arm in DRAD Boxing.

DRAD produced the likes of Bagwasi brothers(Kabelo Steven Bagwasi,Kagiso Bagwasi) who are now professional boxers.
