BOTSWANA READY FOR 2018 CAN TENNIS CUP

With only a few days to the African Nations Cup in tennis team Botswana is more than ready to hit the courts and earn themselves medals.
This was said by the men’s team captain Aobakwe during a conference held by Botswana Tennis Association(BTA) in Gaborone at Notwane Tennis courts this afternoon. This will be the first time Botswana hosts such games in the world of tennis and the only hope is for team Botswana to emerge victorious and represent the country well.
The games are expected to start on the 5th of November and end on the 10th of November 2018, and on the 4th being the arrival of the participating countries. About 13 countries are expected to participate in the games and in them about 13 men and 22 ladies will be playing.
Team Botswana includes Emmanuel Mabechu, Tsholofelo Raised, Lefa Sibanda, Bayane Noodles and Aobakwe being the captain in the men’s team, and the ladies team includes Tshegofatso Sekgopi,the captain, Bonolo Molefhe, Thato Madikwe and lastly Anele Maplanka.
The team is expected to proudly earn their stripes with the support from Batswana rallying behind themWhen asked about the level of fitness the men’s captain Aobakwe indicated that they have been doing weekly training for men in the morning and the afternoon training for the ladies. He further explained that they have a strategy which he couldn’t reveal which he believes will work wonders for the local team.
The participating countries include Botswana as the host, Tunisia, Madagascar, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Congo, Gabon, Morroco, Zambia, Sierra Leon, Burkina Faso, South Africa and Angola which has not yet confirmed their participation.
The Confederation of African Tennis President Nelson Amanze explained that being the first time Botswana hosts the championships in the continent he expects Batswana to show support to the team and attend the games in full numbers.
