:In a bout full of all necessarily required ingredients for a sweetscience spectation,Tressure Moremi of DTCB boxing uncontrollably ran rampant to Mmoloki Thipe of Prisons Boxing dripping flames left and right unto poor Thipe to stamp authority as the 60kg National Boxing Champion on Saturday afternoon Championship held at Bontleng Babusi ward in Gaborone.

The hyping was now done,it was gloves up for the bout of the tournament and arguably fight of the year.

Thipe slided into the national finals staging after beating past Keamogetswe Ditodi of Tsholofelo Boxing and Thabang Methikga of Mafika.

For his counterpart Treasure,it was a walk in the park as he got past Nlisi Kgakgamatso of SSKB and Lebogang Moreti of BMC.

Thipe no doubt dominated round number 1 convincingly with his strong left and right hooks unto the less incoming Treasure. After the break,Treasure came in a different warrior although characterized by frequent downing of the head leading to not so clean fight.

Thipe who could no longer change his style of boxing from round one was fatigued and Treasure proved to be too much for him in the second half of the bout as the aggression king upped the gear with intimidation of his opponent.

Although Treasure constantly exposed himself to Thipe,Thipe could not do enough to convince the judges.Thipe was saved by the bell in the third round to crown Treasure of whom won by unanimous decision and eventually went to claim boxer of the tournament title.

Treasure says he wanted to tire out Thipe in the first round.

“…kemotho yo eleng gore haana stamina…plan yame nne ele gomo lapisa round 1 and then I own round 2 and 3″lamented Treasure.

For his part,Thipe says he is disappointed on his loss but believes his team is definitely proud of him.

“…nne kesa solohela gore nka lusa this fight…nne gole thatanyana because he was getting mo teng thatanyana gantsi with good reflexes”alludes Thipe.

Meanwhile,Pitso Mmopiemang technically edged over Boifang Kenaope in a bout full  and characterized by action packed boxing jam.Mmopiemang was initially down in round one with his clean punches and technic to his counter part Kenaope.Kenaope however flooded Mmopiemang bolo punches throughout the bout which resulted in Mmopiemang sustaining a cut.

“im feeling excited im happy with my fight…it(the cut) did not really affect that much its a cut its part of the game”said Mmopiemang.

“I will never rest until kenna champion, last year ketsere bronze this time silver, thats growth”note Kenaope.

Rajab Mohammed did not disappoint as he helped his club Mafika win the overall team championship by winning Joel Kgogobi in the 52kg final.

George Molwantwa dominated Oefile Chapo to acclaim himself 56kg champion.

Hard hitting Lentswe Zwinila overpowered Machola Kethabile once more with big punch exotic combinations in the 75kg.

BOBA’s most feared athlete had an easy day in office as he closed the ceremony winning by RSC against  Kebadiretse Simane in the 69kg.Kobamelo Molatlhegi curtain raised the tourney with a 3-0 win against Otsile Simane of 49kg.
