SEBEGO SHOWS INTEREST IN NOTWANE FC OWNERSHIP

BY:Kabelo Seleka
The incumbent Notwane FC President Tebogo Sebego has shown interest in the ownership of the club following transformation workshops for elite clubs to become commercial entities.SPORTSNATION staffer Kabelo Seleka writes.
TALKING POINTS
  • Sebego is conflicted
  • He remains the best man for the tittle
  • He wants to be part of the transformation

NOTWANE BOSS WANTS A PIECE OF THE PIE

The transformation workshops powered by Botswana Football Association (BFA) are aimed at Botswana Premier League teams to turn professional and be economically stable companies.
Of interest,Sebego who is eyeing for the BFA Presidency has authoritatively declared that when the opportunity arise he will gladly be the legal owner of the new Notwane FC business.
“Because of my interest in the bigger football body(BFA),I will have to see as to that(owning Notwane),if i remain in Notwane of course  I will be part of the transformation, alluded Sebego.”
Notwane has in the past reported to be controlled and owned by a certain multimillionaire Gift Mogapi.

SHOULD SEBEGO WIN BFA ELECTIONS,HE WILL BE CONFLICTED TO OWN NOTWANE FC

Constitutionally, should Sebego become victorious at the much anticipated 2020 BFA Elections,he stands no chance of owning the club.
When quizzed of the repercussions of the win,Sebego assured SPORTSNATION that Notwane has always produced football leaders.
“What we(Notwane) have done is that we have a leadership platform for Notwane to transform itself without much interference and commotion, there is stability in terms of our leadership model,i believe that those who will take over will succeed in our transformation agenda,he said.”
Tebogo Sebego returned to club football administration in 2017,upon his return through his leadership, Notwane FC gained promotion to the elite BTC Premiership.

SEBEGO IS THE RIGHT MAN TO OWN NOTWANE

Football analyst Phodiso Gaebepe has opined that it will be a blessing in disguise to Notwane FC should Sebego lose the BFA Elections.
Gaebepe noted that Sebego has proven beyond reasonable doubt that he is committed to Notwane brand.
He noted that he is the right man to take the team to the promised land.
“It is a good move for Sebego since he has a rich  history with Notwane”
Nonetheless,Gaebepe observed that from the view of supporters only Sebego is known rather than any other potential forefront owner.
Sebego,a lawyer by profession started his prominence journey in football administration as the BFA Legal advisor,he later challenged former BFA President David Fani in 2012 and won.
Notwane FC is currently owned by a society.
