SANKOYO BUSH BUCKS CONTINUES TO DROWN IN THEIR QUEST FOR BPL SURVIVAL

MOLEPOLOLE:The Maun based club Sankoyo Bush Bucks lost yet another game as they visited Notwane in Molepolole for the round two of the BTC Premiership where they lost 1-0 to the Toronto boys.

It has always been evident from the last season that things are not well for Sankoyo where they escaped relegation by a whisker. According to Sankoyo coach, Gadimang Tiiso, the problem is that the team lost a lot of players to other teams during the transfer window period.

About six of his players were spread across other teams in the BTC Premiership.  This has been a norm since they got promoted on the elite league a few seasons ago. Among them are the liked of Omaatla Kebatho, Moses Ruzivo and many more. He said this has really disturbed the growth and consistency of the club. As we speak Sankoyo is seated at the very bottom of the table with only thirteen  points from twenty-two  games.

However the boys gave Notwane a run for their money as they shown determination and hunger for a win. From the first minutes of the game, they dominated, had possession and were able to get into the Notwane box with ease.

The combination of Molebeledi Diveve, William Sithole and Thato Monowe was very good. There was understanding between the boys and were able to cause troubles for Nowane defence. William Sithole squandered an easy chance where all the defence was beaten, the goalkeeper down, yet he decided to blast the ball lever the bar. 

The boy lacked composure, that could have put Notwane under pressure and maybe get a draw from the game.

When speaking to Gadimang Tiiso he said “yes I have to admit it is tough, it is getting tough it is getting worse, but I believe if you look at the game, it was 50/50 . Notwane had their chances we had ours, it is only that we were not clinical enough. If you saw we had a very clear chance which was just to put the ball into the net, the goalkeeper beaten , you don’t miss such chances. And again our attacking third, some of the guys were not fighting enough.”

On the other hand Notwane is also one of the teams that are stil struggling, not really safe from relegation as they also have a problem with consistency. They blow hot and cold, a team coming a loss against Police XI. They were trying to play a good game spraying passes across the field but most of them were intercepted. 

However they went on until they got a breakthrough from their newly signed substitute Thato Gabotlhokwe. A very silky player, very quick on the ball very confident. He scored a winning goal and later on the game he almost got himself another goal which was perfectly saved by the goalkeeper.
 
The Notwane interim coach Michael Mogaladi said “what I wanted was to press the game so that we can deny them from playing which we failed to do in the first half.  I consider myself a lucky man because maybe the goal we scored was going to be an equaliser.  The chance they missed.”

This is not a good result for Sankoyo Bush Bucks, it is going to take a lot of hard work for them to survive the relegation. 

Things have gone from bad to worse. The other games which were played from Friday were Miscellaneous 0-4 Gaborone United, Orapa United 1-0 Police XI, Extension Gunners 1-2 Jwaneng Galaxy, Prisons XI 1-2 Security Systems, BR Highlanders 2-1 Black Forest, BDF XI 0-1 Mochudi Centre Chiefs.
