PRISONS WINS MAXIMUM POINTS

BY:Phodiso Gaebepe

MOLEPOLOLE: A very tight game between BDF XI and Prisons XI played at Molepolole Sports Complex earlier today on a beautifully heat scorching Sunday afternoon.

The game ended with Prisons grinding out three (3) points from BDF XI with a 1-0 win courtesy of Kitso Mpuisang.

The game game lacked that spark as the two teams were casual on the ball. No sense of urgency, no commitment especially on the side of Matebele.  They lacked that hunger for a win.

A lot of mistakes were committed at the back which some ended up deciding the result of the game.

Prisons XI started showing their intentions from the first whistle as they were the first to attack.

Their combinations from the middle of the park going forward were so positive. The let down was mostly the final ball and the finishing. When they penetrate, they failed to finish well.

Most of the time their balls ended just infront of the box. Mpho Monyena was the star of the day for Prisons, his combination with Mukuye Shakambayo was so dangerous for Matebele.

Hey could make some touches in between the BDF defence and enter the box with ease. The other player who added value on the wing was Kelello Kgosimore, he was full of energy and fought really hard on the wing.

Most of the attacks went through his wing and he could combine well and made those penetrating through passes to Kitso Mpuisang who was their marksman.

Just before the end of first half, Kitso Mpuisang was presented with a one on one chance with the goalkeeper for BDF XI, the man did not appreciate it as he blew it out instead of taking his time to pick a spot and nicely place the ball. However that did not demoralise the boys. They kept on knocking.

The game went for break without a goal. When they came back Rashid Mandawa wad taken out for Keagile Kobe. Mandawa was not at par as he was let down by his first touch in the first half.  They could not complete a move because he was losing the balls quickly due to his poor first touch on the day. The game went on with the two teams attacking each other.

The two centre backs for BDF XI,  Onkabetse Seforo and Thabiso Khunwane did not have a good combination.  They did not cover well for each other, the passes they were trying to make at the back were not clean as Khunwane was struggling to control the ball well.

The only goal of the day resulted from the passes as Khunwane gave Seforo a strong pass which he failed to control and was stolen from him.

A counter attack started and found Mpuisang in the box and he nicely hit the top net with a short from the box. From then on Matebele tried to come back by attacking more but continued to be let down by the finishing. A lot of chances were squandered and unfortunately it was a little too late for BDF XI to.make a come back.

The game ended with Prisons walking away with a 1-0 victory which makes them to slowly walk away from the relegation zone.
