MOLEPOLOLE;The much anticipated encounter between the just returned Notwane football club and the ever growing Serowe outfit Miscellaneous in Molepolole lived to its promise.
This is a third week since the league started and Notwane were playing their second game because they did not play against Township Rollers last week which were held by the CAF assignment.
Miscellaneous on the other hand was playing their third game after a win against Black Forest in Serowe. Both teams came into this encounter without a loss.
A very beautiful game of football displayed by the two teams. We saw good passing football from Notwane which dominated the game with possession. Sthembile “Terry” Mbuque combined so well with Lesego Lubinda and Thabiso Boti. They were able to make very good one-twos in very tight areas and penetrated spaces with ease. The downfall was that these touches were played going wide instead of straight to the goal. This made it easy for Miscellaneous defence as they would just guise them outside the box, this forced Toronto to try play crosses in which were easily dealt with by the keeper and his defence.
The ever shining Tlhalefo Molebatsi continued with what he is known for. That is terrorizing the defence of The Nala. The young man brought life on the left wing, also combined well with the Midfield. One problem with Notwane was that the striker Thabiso Boti was dropping deep into the Midfield go collect balls, when the ball is played to the wingers and a cross made into the box, he will be absent. Mind you the young man is very good on air, he can jump so high.
If all these crosses found him in the box , one or two goals he would have scored. One clear cut chance was presented to Topo Piet, all he was supposed to do was to put his head on the path of the cross to level matters. Somehow the ball passed over his head. Perfect cross it was, but he did what was known only to him.
Miscellaneous on the other hand was showing experience, class as they dealt easily with Notwane’s attacks. There was calmness in their play, composure when under pressure. Tse Nala also had a couple of good moves when attacking. They knew what to do with the ball in the box. The man of the match for the day Takunda Sadiki was very busy upfront. Made runs that split Notwane defence easily.
He also was to speedy for the two centre backs Kelopile Molemo and Brain Botsang. He scored the two goals for Miscellaneous through the lack of tight marking by Notwane. Toronto got their goals through a penalty converted by Michael Pepukani and a last minute strike by Emmanuel Sekwena who came in as a substitute for Topo Piet. Other substitutes were Godwin Modise Sifo and Moshe Tlhaolang who were given way by Thabiso Boti and Lesego Lubinda. For Tse Nala Bhekuyise Kunene and A tang Morwamang gave way for Simon Pako Osupile who also got the only yellow of the game and Kabelo Taolo Kgano.
The match ended with a two all draw. Notwane 2-2 Miscellaneous. At Serowe Sports Complex, BR Highlanders 0-0 Mochudi Centre Chiefs.
