RESULTS ARE FUNDAMENTAL-MFOLO MFOLO

:Botswana Football Association Chief Executive Officer Mfolo Mfolo has told the media this morning that the new minister in the ministry of youth empowerment,sports and culture development, Hon Tshekedi Khama has been appointed.  

Mfolo Mfolo also  touched upon the axing of Major David Bright, the new Zebras Umbro and Baboneng Film deal.  .  

He said this as he was addressing members of the media at Lekidi Football Centre today.  

He stated that they have some engagements with him on how to shape the Botswana football.  They have welcomed him and wished him well on his mandate of unifying the sports codes.  

Mfolo Mfolo pointed out that football must be run like a business and at the end one must see the impact of the plan.”you have to plan, implement, monitor and evaluate”.said Mfolo.  

Tshekedi Khama  joins the sports Ministry after a cabinet reshuffle by President Dr Mokgweetsi Masisi.

Mfolo Mfolo also announced the new technical sponsor.  Umbro which replaces All Kasi  The new exclusive global partner is expected to supply the zebras with playing kit, training and off field apparel and best in class authentic apparel to all national football teams for both men and women.   

Moreover, It will also supply technical and management with branded apparel. The deal is for duration of three years which commences in March this year.

Mr Mfolo Mfolo also introduced the German expert Dr Caroline Brown who is said to be more than just a coach.He lamented that she holds UEFA A license, she is a coach educator and instructor.  She was a coach at German talent promotion program for under 11 and 14 boys.   

He added that she was the technical chair and coach of the German female student national team also a Doctor of sports site.

“We are delighted to have a person of her caliber in our business” said Mfolo Mfolo.

Mfolo Mfolo has also announced that Baboneng Film Production deal to broadcast first division football was off.He said it was due to a breach of contract by Baboneng which was expected to visualize first division football through Maru Tv.

On another issue, Mr Mfolo Mfolo made an official announcement that they have parted ways with the senior national team coach Major David Bright.This follows after the zebras, as they are affectionately known failed to qualify for Afcon 2020.

Mfolo Mfolo stressed that specific performance requirements could not be met. He was expected to improve the FIFA rankings by atleast fifteen places.Bright got in charge of the Zebras ranked 138 in the world and departed it ranked 145. 

The zebras is playing against Angola in the Afcon qualifiers next month at Francistown sports complex.  

The football fraternity is looking forward to see who will be appointed as the caretaker of the team in the mean time.
