MAKWALA TO WIN BIG

Issac “Batman” Makwala is expected to take home sportsman of the year title with ease at the upcoming 38th National Sports Awards, the prestigious ceremony is to be held at the Ba Isago Convention Centre, Gaborone on 15th September 2018.
Makwala has performed remarkably great in the year 2017,for his continued hardwork he has won silver with the men 4 X 400m at the IAAF World relays in the Bahamas,also won 400m IAAF Diamond league,wrote history which famed him globally by running a solo 200m race at the World Championship after being forced off the 400m with an illness.
Additionally in 2017 he made history becoming the first man to run a sub 20s and a sub 45sec in the 200m and 400m respectively on the same day.
Furthermore there are controversial reports that the Athletics governing body Botswana Athletics Association(BAA) hand picked Baboloki Thebe to be pitted for the prestigious award.However BBA was overruled by BNSC suggesting that Batman will be crowned king of sports in Botswana.
Moreover Makwala was celebrated the whole world giving Botswana sport a mileage on international arena.Makwala is nominated with Rajab Mohammed of Boxing and Ofentse Bakwadi of Karate.
In other prominent nominations,Sportswoman of the year award pitted boxing’s favorite bae,Aratwa Kasemang who have brought home bronze at Africa championship,Amantle Montsho who have made a tremendous comeback and Lame Hetanang of Karate.
Coach of the year nominees are Botswana’s best boxing mentor Lechezhani Luza,Justice Dipeba of Athletics and Oto Tafa of Karate.
The much anticipated annual sports awards will be broadcasted on the National Broadcaster Botswana Television(BTV).
