BOTSWANA KARATE AT 2018 COMMONWEALTH KARATE CHAMPIONSHIPS

Olive Convention Center Ice Arena in Durban South Africa has been a place of action for the past two days as the 2018 common wealth karate championships are on going in the place.

The championship started on the 29 of November 2018 and is expected to end on the 2nd of December 2018.

Botswana had the opportunity to be represented very well in the championships and so far the local team has earned themselves medals and raised the blue,black and white flag high.

Botswana was represented in the ladies team Kata, male team Kata, individual Kata,  individual kumite and the male individual Kata.

Good news have been recorded that the ladies team Kata, male team Kata, individual Kata have qualified to the finals and all that has been made possible by Boemo Ramasimong who took part in the male individual Kata,  Kagiso Mophuting in the individual Kata .

Other exciting news that should be noted is that Maatla  Morebodi won the bronze medal in the individual kumite,  Thebe Duna in the under 21 male individual Kata also won a bronze medal.

Ofentse Bakwadi who is currently preparing for the Olympics to be held Tokyo in  2020 received a bronze medal in the male individual Kata.

The team is expected back home on the 4th of December 2018.
