LETSILE TEBOGO(18) IS THE NEXT USAIN BOLT

Letsile Tebogo is the next Usain Bolt,well not yet,Botswana’s uprising athletics sprint sensation Letsile Tebogo has set his eyes on breaking Usain Bolt’s 9:58 100m world record.
This follows a great showpiece by the future star sprinter at this weekend’s 4th Botswana Athletics Association (BAA) track and field series held at the National Stadium.
The Kanye born and bred set a new national record in the men’s 100m after clocking 10.08.
Interestingly, he broke his own record of 10.11 he set a few months after smashing Isaac Makwala’s 10.20 national record as a 17-year-old with a run of 10.14.

qualified him for the World U20 Championships, Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games as well as the Africa Senior Championships.
In an exclusive interview with SPORTSNATION, Letsile Tebogo stressed that he believes he can break the renowned 100m record holder Usain Bolt of 9.58. He thanks Batswana for all the wellwishers.
“I would like to say thank you to everyone who was behind my back and continue with the support that they had shown the past years,states the 19 year old Letsile Tebogo.”
When asked about the future Letsile Tebogo alluded that;
I want to be the best in the game and changing 100m, we all know that Botswana is a 400m based country, so the next years I aspire to change how Botswana is perceived in sprints.
Sports journalist Anastacia Sibanda told SPORTSNATION that Letsile Tebogo is talented and passionate about short spirits and more should be expected from him.
Since his debut in athletics, the talented young star showed consistency in his performance as he scooped three gold medals in 100m, 200m, and 4x100m relay during Botswana Primary School Sports Association competitions (BOPSSA) in 2016.
In 2018 the boy went on to win two gold medals in 200m and 4X100m relay and silver in 100m during Botswana Intergraded Sports Association (BISA) national finals.
The following year in 2019, Kanye-born sprinter shattered Baboloki Thebe’s 200m national record of 21:21s by recording an impressive 21:12s setting a new national record and winning the gold medal during Botswana games which saw him qualify for under 20 World Athletics to be held in Kenya.
Letsile Tebogo is the 2021 U20 World Athletics champion of 100 m and silver medalist in 200 m.
