LENTSWE ZWINILA TURNING PRO BOXING:A VOYAGE

Former national boxing team and Glen Valley Boxing Club star performer Lentswe Zwinila’s quest for professional fight is proving to be a mountainous hill to climb with his employers said to be blocking the opportunist move.

The hard hitting welterweight bulldozer has for many months expressed interest in joining the ever growing Bond Boxing Promotions.

However,Lentswe Zwinila who is a fulltime Botswana Defence Force(BDF) employee is reported to have not received any feedback regarding his professional boxing future from his superiors but instead sent on trips time and time again when his move is close.

A mule insighted this publication that the jealousy level of Zwinila’s colleagues is of the highest degree.The knowledgeble mule close to the events lamented that the star boxer made a huge mistake by foreshadowing to his colleagues about his intentions before the move is cemented.

The on the deep background source further narrated that the colleagues stood low arguing that he will be earning double pay from boxing and his day job.The source defended Lentswe Zwinila saying that in the past soldiers have joined professional ranks before while working fulltime.

Moreover the employers are said to be arguing that Zwinila has been inactive for a very long time in the sport.The data pregnant source elaborated that it was Zwinila’s overly reacted retaliation against his blocked move.

“Soldiers in nature are jealous of each others progression,he should have announced his intentions after dealing with authorities.


Lentswe Zwinila lost a bit of touch when he had a quiet year and not much involved in BoBA inter-club tournaments in 2017 resulting in him missing out on the Congo Brazzaville Africa Boxing Championship.

The star in interest Zwinila was flabbergasted to learn that he is apparently being sabotaged.He told sportsnation that he is currently awaiting feedback from work.

“Nobody is being sabotaged,just that I have to go some process at work to end up being in the ring again and I have done the process only awaiting my response from work,said Zwinila.”

When reached for comment,Bond Boxing Promotions boss Bond Ngulula echoed that the issue is out of his hands hence he can only advice.Bond also clarified that the is no pressure on the transfer of the star boxer though it is said that the stable is planning a fight event in the month of March.

“Honestly I have no answer, it’s an employer-employee matter. I don’t want to interfere that much. We can only advice but his life comes first. BDF pays him a monthly salary, we don’t want to compromise his career. If it happens it happens. No pressure on him and us,said Bond.”

Efforts to reach BDF were futile at press time.

The 2006 Commonwealth youth championship bronze medalist had worked with Bond before at his amateur boxing stable 1-2-5 boxing club..
