IS CAPTAIN KEFENTSE MOLALAPATA A SHADOW OF HIMSELF?

BY:Kabelo Seleka

UB/Tsholofelo Boxing Stable’s Captain Kefentse “Doritos” Molalapata continues to woefully perform against big house hold names in local boxing circles as he dismally lost to the one and only Mmoloki “Muller” Thipe for the third time in a row at one of the last 3 of its kind Botswana Boxing Association(BOBA) interclub hosted at Glen Valley on Saturday 20.

Following the untimely death of former SSKB and national team boxer Ofentse Kompone and Reba Bona Ha launch boxing launch.

The Maun bound interclub tourney had to be called off.

Nonetheless it was back to business on Saturday when Thipe dribble past arch rival Molalapata by unanimous decision  in a one sided affair.

Molalapata however thrown in the hat to keep his man on the toe,Thipe who was a plug relied on the old school defensive counter punching boxing as Molalapata was too slow for him and maybe Thipe made him extra slow with great reflexes and always beat him to punch from the onset.

A bout won from the corner as it was tactically top notch.Thipe had an edge over Molalapata who could not fulfill instructions of his corner as they continued to scream uncontrollably for absolute 9 minutes of the bout.

Molalapata has in the year 2017 lost on 2 occasions to Thipe. The Saturday 20 fight was the third successful win by Thipe over Molalapata.

Not only that,Kefentse Molalapata an apparent seasoned boxer who has been dominate in the past for 60kg was given a lifetime boxing lesson by Treasure Moremi recently.

Molalapata’s apparent downfall slims his chances  of being selected for a national team duty in the future.

Word in the corridors is that a professional boxing stable known to the station that had interest in signing him are slowly repelling away due to his bad form although his camp has always been reluctant for him to turn pro during his haydays.

On the other hand Thipe who has two much respect for Molalapata could not hide his excitement after his victory.

Thipe says he is avoiding Molalapata at all costs for the championship because he is up for the far fetched revenge.

“I was a bit scared,I played  him 2 games last year and I won I knew he will come back for revenge”said Thipe.

“When I faked a jab,he comes inside so I had to followup with a right punch to win the fight”lamented Thipe.

“he is slower to fight infighting and outfighting like he did back then so I capitalized”noted Thipe.

In other top attraction bouts,Treasure continued his savage on the Ub/Tsholofelo Boxers as he forced referees intervention after pumping too much pressure, aggression and speed against Nthaba Nlanda to win by RSC.

Treasure has in past few months tormented UB/Tsholofelo boxers including their captain Molalapata and Keamogetse Ditodi among others.

“every opponent yeke kopanang leyone I respect including Kefentse Molalapata, but I fear non of them”said the jubilant Treasure after his victory.

The former BOBA top attraction and now  BOBA’s most feared man Mmusi Tswiige  of Prisons Boxing club who has in the past not managed to get any matching due to lack of plug by other 69kg’s won by RSC against Tshepo Stoffel of SSKB.

When speaking to the media,Tswiige who decreed of lack of opponents said that his club is arranging a training and sparring schedule with one of local professional clubs to give him competition which can help prepare him for international duty.

In other notable bouts, the region 5 bound Thabang Mmusi who trades for Maun boxing won by a split decision over the dreadlocks trademark  Clayton Lucas of Prisons.

In the only 3 ladies bout,Lethabo Modukanele of Ub won by unanimous decision over Jennifer Sechi of BMC.Glen Valley’s Rhodaj Monna follow suited to also win by unanimous decision.Same Tome of BMC retired against Keamogetse Kenosi of DTCB.
