Botswana Boxing Association(BOBA) has found at a treasure in Keamogetse Kenosi affectionately known as Sadie.

KENOSI`S TEMPER DIRECTED HER TO BOXING RING

Sadie joined boxing in 2012 while she was doing form 2 following an invitation from her Junior School teacher to join boxing after he saw her being punished for bullying.Keamogetse Kenosi was once a school bully that most of the time was in detention for her quick fists and fiery temper.

The DTCB club member started to make her presence felt in 2014 when she got her first call to the national team. She scooped Gold medal in Gaborone 2nd African Youth Games. Still in the same year she started becoming a regular for the national team.

Post African Youth Games she continued with her thrilling performance emerging a champion during the 2015 Zone 4 Championships for South African countries.For the same competition in 2016 she won a silver medal.

Sadie came back strong like a lightning in 2017 winning a Gold medal which she managed to defend successfully for the following year.

She continued to make her penetration and presence felt in boxing by grabbing a Gold medal in featherweight category at African Games that were held in. Morocco 2019.

SHE IS A HISTORIC BOXER

A young Motswana boxer has defied the odds in a male dominated sport becoming the country’s first female Olympian in the sport of boxing. Kenosi became the first boxer to booka spot in Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games which were postponed to July 2021 all thanks to Covid-19.

Kenosi is basking in rare glory as she is the first woman to represent her country at the Olympics and her qualification also booked her name in the history books.

Kenosi eyes to qualify for the second Olympics and  having her own Girl Club which will help girl child grow in boxing.
