Kabelo Seakanyeng ’s future looks promising and shinning at his new Moroccan home, Olympique Club De Khourigba Football Club.
Due to the outbreak of COVID – 19, Seakanyeng`s future went back to zero, as he started the 2020/21 season with no team, yet there were many local and abroad top flights interested in his services.
TALKING POINTS
The Serowe born got a call from Moroccan first division side Olympique Club De Khourigba on the 30 of November 2020. His future looks promising again as he has already featured in all this seasons games for the club unlike in the past.
Kabelo Seakanyeng is playing along with his home boys former Township Rollers FC defender Simisane ‘Flight’ Mathumo who has disappointingly had a dispirited beginning of the season has he has not really had a fair chance at the club, making only a single appearance for the club thus far.Tumisang ‘Benteke’ Orebonye, who is the talesman for the club, is yet to write his name in the hearts of the Khourigba supporters.
Seakanyeng has publicly stated that he is interested and ambitious of playing in Europe.
The skillful and talented midfielder started his professional football nine years ago at BDF XI, a top local club.
Seakanyeng’s had an interesting time at BDF XI as he won one of the major trophies in Botswana, ‘Mascom Top 8’ with the BDF XI in the 2013/14 season. The love, passion and hunger he had in making it to professional football drove him to bag the Mascom Top 8 player of the tournament in the aforementioned season.
Skhebo, as affectionally known by his fans scooped the Be Player of the month award in December 2015 following his inspiring performance for that month before grabbing attention from other local clubs such as Gaborone United among other top sides.
After the transfer window for the 2015/16 season opened, Gaborone United commonly known as the ‘The Red Machine’ secured his signature. Kabelo Seakanyeng spent close to two seasons at Gaborone United. With his continued fine form, he attracted attention from clubs outside the country such as Chippa United from South Africa.
Chippa United signed Seakanyeng and his teammate Thatayaone ‘Messi’ Kgamanyane, who was also tremendously doing well, for a combined R1.2 million fee for the 2019/20 season. The future was looking promising for the young stars, until things turned upside for the Botswana internationals at the Port Elizabeth-based club. They made only 3 appearances for the club during that season, two starts and one game as a substitute with no goal for the club.
On January 13, 2019, Kabelo Seakanyeng signed with the national first Division side, TS Galaxy, as a free agent from Chippa hoping to find game time there. Kabelo Seakanyeng’s deal with Galaxy was quickly called off before even making a single appearance for the club as he was summoned back to the Port Elizabeth based club by new Chippa United coach Clinton Larsen to complete his 3-year contract. Things did not work out between the two parties as they had to part ways on the same year.
Kabelo Seakanyeng signed for Malta based Liga Athletic in July 2019 as a free agent and played for the first division side in 2019/20 season. His future seemed promising, as he had an excellent debut season in the tiny European Island of Malta. He helped the club finish second on that season and got promoted to Maltese Premier League on May. He had 19 appearances for the club, scoring 8 goals and 16 assists during that season.
The 27 year old`s love, passion, hunger and determination is proving beyond reasonable doubt that will elevate the skilful and speedy winger abroad.
