BY:Kabelo Seleka

Some things are certain, birth, tax and death are all part, parcel and package of life itself. For the squared circle Treasure Moremi and Mmoloki Thipe are truly bound in the mixup for a bout that took precisely 140 days in the making after a controversial box and kiss in volume 1 mid season.

The arguably matching of the year is potted in the National Boxing Championship 2018 of which ring dancing shall take place from 1pm at Babusi Hall in Bontleng,Gaborone this Saturday 24.

With the now has-been former 60kg co-dictator from UB/Tsholofelo Boxing Stable Captain Kefentse “Doritos” Molalapata out of the freeze due to apparently work commitments and fitness matters, the limelight no doubt jabs the duo from DTCB boxing Club and Prisons Boxing Club,Treasure and Thipe respectively.

With just snippet of over a quarter of a century bouts between  the two star boxers with a combined 6 losses  only for the 2018 season, the 9 minutes of fun filled sweetscience experience is upon boxing fanatics should the 19 year old and 23 year old bring their A game.

It was allegedly in the corridors that the first bout between Treasure and Thipe was overclouded by transfer politics thus friendship overshadowed the much anticipated bout.

The Saturday 24 fightday  comes after Thipe ran rampant in the third round against one of Treasure’s victim Keamogetse Ditodi by edging over  him by  unanimous decision in the championship preliminaries.

Thipe went to the semi-final with his fine form to cripple Thabang Methikga of Mafika boxing and make a date with Treasure.

Thipe says he is awoke by an ideal of Treasure bulldozing other boxers with his aggressive and quick combination style of boxing.

“we have been working on how to beat aggressive fighters at training”alludes Thipe.

Meanwhile Treasure accepted a date from Thipe by going past Kgakgamatso Nlisi of SSKB by unanimous decision and finished up  Lebogang Moreti of BMC by unanimous.

Tressure says the bout is critically significant for his career looking at the fact that olympic qualifiers are only a stone throw away.

win or lose im focused, this is championship hagona kagore this ke Thipe kea moitsi…we have to fight…se seyang gore kgaoganya hela ke bout yarona“notes Treasure.

In other not to blink an eye exciting finals,a star in the making in the 56kg category Oefile Chapo cemented his place after tripping Bakang Mese among others to cement a date with the no doubt  underated yet results oriented George Molwantwa  who notably relegated Tefo Maitewa, not once but twice in  two months.

Tefo Simane will fight Molatlhegi Kobamelo in the light flyweight division.Battle for supremacy in the 52kg is between Rajab Mohammed and Joel Kgogobi.

64 kg is also expected to be flames as Kenaope Boifang  of Francistown will ring the bell against Pitso Mmopiemang of Tsholofelo Boxing.

Closing the punch festival possible on Maru Tv sport will be the BOBA’s former top attraction and now the most feared athlete Mmusi Tswiige of Prisons Boxing who will box with the inpluck Kebadiretse Simane of Francistown in the 69kg.
