MOLEPOLOLE;Week 9 of the BTC Premiership fixtured Black Forest and Extension Gunners at Molepolole Sports Complex on the 27th October 2018 where we saw Extension Gunners winning their second game in a row.
The game ended 1-0 in favor of Gunners. Mapantsola seem to have found their winning formation as it is known for its unpredictable and in-consistent displays.
Molepolole Sports Complex was colored black and white all across as the Gunners fans came with expectation that their team will collect maximum points especially looking at the form Black Forest is in this season, however Gunners did not disappoint their masses.
The game started on a low note as both teams were failing to keep the ball. They seemed to have planned to start with caution and trying to not open too much at the back to avoid an early goal.
Eventually as the game progressed, the teams settled in and started knocking the ball around and trying to keep possession.
Extension Gunners had more of the ball in the first half making those beautiful touches going forward.
Kenanao Floh Kgetholetsile was holding the balls nicely for his teammates upfront. The Magoleng defense were struggling to win the balls from him as he was very good in protecting the ball. His wingers connected well with him, the runs were good and could have damaged Magoleng, especially the right wing.
The problem was the final ball, most of the crosses either went out or were too high for the strikers to finish. Magoleng also had the their fair chances, thanks to their poor finishing they failed to get a goal in the first half.
Floh Kgetholetsile finally got one for Mapantsola before the break and made it 1-0 for Gunners.
After break we saw the introduction of Thobo Gaboduelwe, he came in for Kealeboga Botlhole. This was done in attempt to increase fire upfront. Kealeboga is not a natural striker, but an attacking midfielder so they had to bring in someone who is used to the position.
Magoleng came back stronger looking to level the matters. The downfall was that they failed to combine properly when going forward. There was too much space between the striking force and and the midfield.
Gobona Ramotlhwa was too wide most of the time. This made it difficult for Magoleng to struggle to get into the Gunners box. The absence of Mogomotsi Kerebotswe, the captain is another factor as this now forces Majafi to stick too much in the center of the park instead of adding numbers upfront.
Majafi was too deep and concerned about defending most of the time. The absence of Godknows Mutina also is a factor, like I mentioned earlier there is no pressure on the defense of Mapantsola.
The strikers Ramotlhwa and Botshoma enjoys attacking coming from outside the box. Whereas Mutina stays in the box and this gives Magoleng shape at the top.
Same old story, the few chances that Magoleng creates gets spoilt as they were failing to convert them. Mapantsola managed to hold on to their goal and walked away with maximum points.
Extension Gunners won 1-0 against Black Forest. The substitutes for Forest were Kealeboga Botlhole, Thabo Ngada and Gobona Ramotlhwa making way for Thabo Motlhabane, Thobo Gaboduelwe and Thabo Phatsima.
Whereas for Gunners were Botshelo Mafoko, Mmoloki Kebalepile and Brain Mankanku making way for Longisani Fanyani, Kudzanani Machadzani and Baokeditswe Talane.
