GALAXY HUMBLES ROLLERS

BY:Phodiso Gaebepe

GABORONE; Week 16 of the BTC Premiership pitted Township Rollers and Jwaneng Galaxy at the National Stadium in Gaborone on the 13th of January 2019 at 1545hours.

Township Rollers nicely gets humbled by Galaxy on the day with a 3-1 win, a result that was very unexpected especially looking at the form of Jwaneng Galaxy in the last games of the first round.

A very balanced  game it was in which both teams went for break on level courtesy of a wonder strike from Edwin Moalosi of Township Rollers and and a very well taken  cool shot from Atisang Batsi of Jwaneng Galaxy to level matters in the first half.

The game begun with both teams showing intentions to walk away with maximum points. In the early minutes of the game, a chance was provided to Tumisang Orebonye, a one on one with the keeper which he squandered.

The game progressed it was a very tactical game with Galaxy making great movements on and off the ball, the let down was most of the time Patrick Kaunda’ s first touch.  This made Galaxy to struggle to convert or finish up a move they started from the midlefield.

Thero Setsile of Galaxy started as a winger , some minutes later on the game he went and sat back because of the pressure from Rollers.

The battle was a bit difficult in the middle of the park for Galaxy as Mapalastina has two destroyers in Maano Ditshupo and Ivan Ntenge.

Lebogang Ditsile was exposed most of the time as he would find himself having to deal with two players alone. However that was dealt with by dropping Thero Setsile.

Mothusi Cooper was offensive on the day but sometimes found himself deeper behind his defensive midfielders.

The pressure from the right side of the field was a bit overwhelming for Galagwe Moyana, hence the dropping of Mini cooper to assist. As earlier mentioned, the game went to half time one all.

In the early minutes of the first second half a mistake by Rollers defence trying to play the ball at the back got them punished.  Wagarre Dikago was outside the posts and Olebogeng Malebye took a long strike into the empty net to make it 2-1.

It was game on, Galaxy was motivated, energized, lifted up their heads as they could now see the light at the end of the tunnel.

On the other hand Palastina looked to have lost hope now, looked tired and lost. Their heads were down.Galaxy begun to relax and enjoy the ball, they slowly took control of the game.

Just when everyone thought the game would end 2-1, a wonderful movement by Galaxy in the Rollers box was finished by Atisang Batsi to get himself a brace on the day and make it 3-1.

It was all gone for Township Rollers

Few substitutions were made by both teams to try and strengthen where it needed to be strengthened.
