BOTSWANA CHESS TO INVEST IN TECHNOLOGY

Botswana Chess Federation (BCF) Public Relations Officer(PRO) says that they intend to invest more in digital technology to boost Botswana`s competitiveness internationally.
The sentiments by the youthful PRO follows national team’s participation at the ongoing FIDE World Online Chess Olympiad.
The visual tourney started on the 25th of July ending on August 30.

BOTSWANA CHESS TO TRAIN PLAYERS AROUND TECHNOLOGY
Jady Tatolo stated that in order to be competitive with other countries,BCF will invest in technology.Moreover she said they plan to train and familiarize players the use of computers going forward after the team settled for position 7 of the 10 teams in Division 3.
“We have learned that we need to plan more around digital play training for our teams and to invest in Technology that can aid us in winning tournaments of that nature in future,lamented Jady Tatolo.”
BCF HAPPY WITH TEAM PERFORMANCE
Commenting on the team performance,BCF mouthpiece elaborated that though they have not qualified to Division 2,they are happy with the team performance as the team outcome will help local chess players increase their FIDE ratings.
“The team’s performance overall after getting position 7 was a really good one because despite the fact that we have not qualified to Division 2,our players are going to have an increase in their ratings because they beat Sri Lanka and Chinese because they were ranked higher,echoed Jady Tatolo.”
When speaking to the media recently,in agreement with the federation’s PRO,national team mentor Ivon Makabe appreciated that they have learned from the tournament and will improve in future.
“Yes we did not qualify for the next stage,but all in all the team put in a very good fight,commended Ivon Makabe.”
Meanwhile,BOTASH has offered BCF a whopping P60 000 sponsorship adding in to the already existing sponsors Metropolitan Botswana,Debswana Mining Company, Nashua and Hello Mobile.
