Orapa Boxing Club hosted the 10th BOBA-interclub tourney of the year sanctioned by Botswana Boxing Association(BOBA) at Orapa Sports Hall on Saturday the 4th of August 2018 with 11 bouts on the cards.
At least 9 clubs accepted the invitation for the ring dancing,with Francistown Boxing Club(F/town Boxing) with most participants by 5 boxers from 22.
Divisions on the day ranged from 49kg to 75kg.
49kg’s Molatlhegi Kobamelo of EMG won by unanimous decision over Romeo Motlhao of F/town Boxing.His team mate Zibani Roma was stopped by Maxwell Sechi of BMC in 52kg.
In the other 52kg category Joel Kgogobi gained momentum from his teammate Maxwell to slightly edge over Nicholas Kgosi of Prisons by an unanimous decision.
Moving up the weight,Prisons Obakeng Mzingwane terribly lost all rounds against Gobusaone Mafika boxing.
Romeo Nkisa of Ub bounced back from a controversial loss in the last interclub to win by a split decision to Thabang Mathekge of Mafika in the 60kg.
Closing the curtain,75kg’Ketlhabile Machola of F/Town Boxing won by unanimous decision to Thabang Mmusi of Maun Boxing Club.
The next interclub tourney will be hosted in Gaborone on the 18th of August.
