GABORONE:Botswana Boxing Association(BOBA)Competitions Office says that inter-club tournaments which are hosted in collaboration with affiliates(clubs) two times a month are an assessment process for a possible selection for national team.
Speaking to Sportsnation,Competitions Coordinator Tanaka Rauwe says that inter club tournaments are one way to keep the boxers fit and alive and monitoring them for a possible national duty.
“the BOBA Inter-club is a way of keeping our boxers fit and to compete in a way that we keep it alive,in a way that we select our boxers for the national team,it is a one way of monitoring them.”laments Rauwe
Rauwe foreshadowed that they are in a process for a possible sponsorship for National Championship which is normally slotted in the months of October/November.
He also said that a broadcast of the Championship Finals are also in process on National TV.
In conclusion Rauwe said that for a boxer to be featured in the Championship,he has to have fought in 90% of the tourneys by BOBA normaly BOBA Inter-clubs.
