ORANGE BOTSWANA TAKES OVER THE FA CUP

This week our football was graced with the long awaited and also the biggest cup competition in the domestic league as it hosts many teams than any other.

Orange Botswana and BFA had the chance to introduce to us the Orange FA cup built to kick start early next year.

The maiden cup is said to be on three year deal with 12.6 million which makes it 4.2 million per season, in a nutshell the winners of the cup will walk away with P700 000.

It is said 5 million will be used every season to popularize the cup.

The FA Cup will be made up of 48 teams with all teams from the elite league taking part, 16 teams from the regional division, from the first division, 8 teams will emerge from both south and north.

“We are passionate about doing more in this space, and the Orange FA cup is the realization of that passion”. Said Orange Botswana Chief Executive Officer Dr. Patrick Benon.On the BFA part, President MacLean Letshwiti acknowledged the strides made by Orange, `with this sponsorship we strive to cultivate talent and to grow the local sports industry.

Orange FA Cup competition will add to the existing two in the BTC Premiership and the Mascom Top 8 when it kick starts on January 2019.
