KABO SEITSHIRO WARNS PITSO MMOPIEMANG

BY:Kabelo Seleka

GABORONE:Former national team boxer Kabo Setshiro of Eastern Military Garrison(EMG) boxing has sent a strong warning to his bitter rival Pitso  Mmopiemang of University of Botswana(UB) Boxing  for a post in the national team 64kg category by skinning him alive at yesterday’s 3rd Botswana Boxing Association(BOBA) inter-club of the year hosted by Prisons Boxing at BDF Village Garrison.

KABO SEITSHIRO HAS BEEN ON A BOXING BREAK

Kabo Seitshiro is said to have been away from boxing business due to military training for the better part of 2018 resulting in him being dropped from the blue, black and white colors.

Seitshiro last major feature in the National team was in June 2017 for Africa Championship in Congo.

Two years later he was instantly replaced by 2018 64 kg champion Mmopiemang.Mmopiemang garnered the status after troubling Boifang Kenaope in 2018 BOBA National Championship..

Seitshiro has had a record of 3 fights alone in the 2019 punch festival season. All fights were against Mmopiemang and Mmusi Tswiige.

Seitshiro proved to be a household name as he gave Mmopiemang a sweetscience lesson in the first inter-club of the year hosted at UB.

Seitshiro could not hold back his hands against his rival as he kept him on the ropes and corners only Mmopiemang to be saved by the bell.

Yesterday was a replay of the much anticipated and mouth watering and possibly a national team selector bout where Seitshiro did what he is better known for as he put Mmopiemang to order winning by unanimous decision, again.

Seitshiro says he is back for what is rightfully his and it is upon Mmopiemang to make way for the sensational light welterweight contender.

hela jaaka ke buwa gore ke buile, ene keene atshwanetseng gobona gore o picka pace.”alludes Seitshiro.

For his part,Mmopiemang says he is not worried with the return of Seitshiro in boxing.

“im not really worried because I am also working hard in training,I just have to work on being more aggressive and stop giving him too much respect”states Mmopiemang.

Tswiige who won his bout yesterday after his opponent Kethabile Machola was disqualified for biting the African Champion and Toyko 2020 medal hopeful says he is delighted to have Seitshiro back in boxing as this will help gear him up for international duties ahead with the no where to be seen long time rival and hard hitting Lentswe Zwinila consistently absent in the squared circle.

Although Tswiige was unhappy with his loss against Seitshiro in their matchup due to bad judging,Seitshiro says Tswiige has a lot to learn,he says Tswiige has to learn to score punches not hit on the guards to convince the men in white.

On the disqualification controversy,BOBA`s mouthpiece Taolo Tlouetsile was clueless to whether a disciplinary action will be taken against Machola who bit Tswiige.

According to BOBA documentation, the criteria used to select a national team boxer reads “gold medal winners,at the national championship will be considered to contest for a spot”.

It further elaborates that a boxer should show commitment, high performance, good discipline, highly skilled, confidence and experience.

Mmopiemang is the champion,Seitshiro is the experienced,Lechedzani “Master”Luza is the club and national team coach for Mmopiemang, currently Mmopiemang is in the provisional squad,Seitshiro is said to have always been the the favorite in the post,at some point Atang Mosenke was the champion and Seitshiro was selected ahead of him.Who is it going to be?

Captain Kefentse “Doritos” Molalapata of UB boxing who has been unlucky to have not stepped on the squared circle this year due to a walkover and work commitments had a field day stamping authority in 60kg against Eto Dibetso of Prisons boxing winning by an unanimous decision. The underated Mosenke also put Omphile Shimako to order by winning 3-0.Tefo Maitewa won boxer of the year Rajab Mahommed by an unanimous decision.

In creme dela creme ladies category,2014 Africa youth games wonderkid Keamogetswe Kenosi toppled female boxer of the year Aratwa Kaseemang in the 60kg showdown. The bolo punches proved to be economically feasible for Kenosi to convince men in white encircling the squared circle.Aratwa’s aggression and quick combinations of punches came too late in the bout as Kenosi marched away with an unanimous decision.Lethabo Modukanele showcased prowess, skill, hunger and technic as she edged with a 3-0 win over the inplug Gosaitse Nkepe.

BOBA ‘s third inter-club was braced by 33 bouts in a well organised venue under the management of Prisons boxing. The next interclub will be hosted by the newly affiliated Molepolole Boxing on the 16th of March.
